As we approach the opening of Old Chatham’s first guest cottage, we thought you would like some details on the thoughtful design and comforts that await you.
The 2,700-square-foot guest cottage was designed with both business and personal retreats in mind. Whether your company wants a unique setting for an offsite work experience, you want a convenient way to enjoy a marathon weekend of golf with friends, or you are looking to put clients in private, first class lodging, the Old Chatham guest cottage is the perfect spot.
Each feature of the guest cottage evokes the stately elegance and serene feel that members have come to expect upon entering Old Chatham’s grounds. Landscaping is being worked on by the experienced and award-winning Old Chatham grounds crew.
The guest cottage’s exterior, set upon a stone foundation, features cedar shake siding and a covered back porch. Relax on the back porch, enjoy the outdoor grill, or relax by the backyard fire pit and brag about the putt you sank on the 6th hole. If your golf score wasn’t what you’d hoped for, then perhaps you can take a time out between cocktails and use the chipping area steps away from the cottage.
To enhance the interior, architects and designers included a large gathering space with an open bar area, ceiling and trim made from knotty alder, hardwood white oak floors, a fireplace and a wide range of built-ins.
The four bedrooms, laid out around a beautifully appointed living room with fireplace, each feature a king- sized bed and full bath. There is a small kitchen and dining table for eight.
Members looking for a great meal can enjoy breakfast and lunch at the clubhouse grill. Old Chatham can provide dinner, or members can take advantage of available transportation for a quick trip to hundreds of surrounding restaurants and shops.
The entire guest cottage may be rented more than two weeks prior to arrival date, or individual rooms rented within a two-week period.
