Durham, NC – Old Chatham Golf Club is now offering special incentives to young adults in the Triangle who are interested in joining the area’s most esteemed Club. Through the introduction of their new Associate Membership Program, Old Chatham offers prospective members under 40 the opportunity to join the Club at a reduced membership rate.

The Associate Membership Program allows individuals under 40 to become members of Old Chatham Golf Club for a $30,000 initiation fee and monthly dues of $400. Members can extend these payments out over as many as 8 years or until the person turns 40.

“We find that many of our associate members have amenities like pools and tennis courts in their neighborhoods and a golf-only club like Old Chatham fits their needs perfectly. They have young families and many demands of their time and being able to relax and play golf in an uncrowded atmosphere like this makes the most of their time and experience“, responded Jill Marino, Membership Director at Old Chatham.

Durham, NC – Old Chatham Golf Club, located in the heart of the Triangle, was recently honored with the appearance of PGA Golfer, Corey Pavin. Corey hosted a golf clinic for Old Chatham members and their guests on September 28^th, 2011, while in town preparing for the Champions Tour SAS Championship.

Pavin, a California native, spent over 150 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings from the late 80’s to late 90’s.  He is best recognized for his accomplishment at the 1995 U.S. Open, where Pavin bested Australian golfing legend, Greg Norman, by two strokes.

John Marino, Head Golf Professional at Old Chatham, had this to say, “Having one of the PGA Tour’s finest players provide an intimate clinic for our members is a highlight of our year . Corey spent more than an hour with the members hitting shots, explaining his approach to the game and talking about his career, especially his US Open win at Shinnecock.  We will cherish this special occasion.”

The day could not have been more perfect as Pavin impressed the crowd with both is humor and skill, telling stories of his time on tour and his 1995 US Open title.  Mr. Pavin was available to answer questions from Old Chatham members and discussed his on and off golf course preparation, as well as his work with Old Chatham members.

On September 9^th, 2011, Old Chatham commemorated its 10^th Anniversary over an elegant cocktail party enjoyed by 250 golf club members and guests.  The milestone celebration allowed the Old Chatham members and employees to honor the events of the past decade and to look forward to the Club’s future endeavors.  It was also an opportunity to show thanks to the original Old Chatham Board of Directors, whose original vision of an old-line golf club was the basis for today’s golf experience at Old Chatham.

Durham, NC (December 27, 2011) – Old Chatham Golf Club of Durham, NC is pleased to announce the launch of their Annual Membership, introduced by the Old Chatham Board of Directors. The prestigious club is a Members-only golf course, so the new Annual Membership option will provide an opportunity for more golfers to take advantage of the Club’s championship golf course and luxurious Clubhouse.

Annual Membership at Old Chatham will be limited to only 10 resident equivalent members at one time. Annual Resident Members can join the Club for a 12-month period for a $5,000 annual fee and Resident member monthly dues. At the end of the 12 months, the member can opt to renew the Annual Membership.

When asked about the new annual membership, Membership Director, Jill Marino replied: “This Annual Membership is ideally suited for executives who are working in the area for a few years or for those who have children attending a local university and are looking for a great golf experience when they come to visit.”

For those business executives, the Old Chatham golf course offers a peaceful environment to conduct business, while the Clubhouse offers both formal and informal amenities such as a private library and elegant locker room.

The Annual Membership is also suited for someone who simply wishes to commit to a golf club one year at a time.

Associate Member Candidates (individuals under 40 years of age) may also apply for Annual Membership. These individuals will be able to join for an annual fee of $2,500 and monthly dues of $400.

If an Annual Member later decides to join Old Chatham Golf Club as a permanent member, the Club will honor 50 percent of the Annual Membership fee towards the Club’s initiation fee.
