As Director of Food & Beverage, Matt oversees all facets of the F&B operation for the entire property. To maintain high standards, he greets members and their guests to ensure satisfaction as part of his personalized, warm service. Behind the scenes, he handles menu planning, quality, costing, inventory, ordering & receiving, as well as planning, coordinating, and overseeing special events at the club. His most important role at Old Chatham is leading a team that consistently provides a “first class” experience for its’ members along with their guests.
Matt is also in charge of the Old Chatham Wine Program. Through this program he is able to offer highly allocated wines to the membership. This provides an extra level of service by allowing them to pick the wines up directly from the club at their leisure and have it loaded in their vehicle for them.
In February 2008 Matt joined the Old Chatham team as a line cook. He progressed from there to work in many different roles at the club as Assistant Locker Room Manager, Server, Dining Room Manager, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, and then to assume his present duties as Director of Food & Beverage. Matt has been playing golf since he was 3 years old and has a strong passion for the game as well as the private club industry. He is a native of Cary, NC and lives with his wife, Melissa, in Raleigh.
