The Triangle’s Top-Rated Golf Course and Private Golf Club

In 1999, business leaders from around North Carolina teamed together to find a secluded yet convenient location on which to build a golf sanctuary, where golfers could unwind, relax and play. They found a perfect spot, central to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, yet tucked away from the region’s rapid growth.

Renowned golf course architect Rees Jones was chosen for his ability to design a course that is fair, challenging, continually interesting to play, and utilizes the intrinsic value of the land it is built on.

In some ways, Old Chatham continues to evolve. A clubhouse was opened in 2008 and a course enhancement project, led by Rees Jones, was completed in 2012. The practice facilities are continuing to grow. Still, Old Chatham will always be what it was intended to be, a true golf sanctuary for a lucky few.
